About Brett

Brett is a Calgary-based photographer obsessed with sports, photojournalism and portraits. He is a fourth-generation photographer, and grew up documenting his hometown for the local, family-run paper. Growing up, cameras were always within reach.

His images have been featured by The Hockey News, NHL, New York Times, CFL, The Athletic, US Ski & Snowboard, Huffington Post, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, TSN & many others.

Nationally, he was awarded first and third place for best sports photos of the year by the Canadian Community Newspapers Association in 2010 and 2019, respectively.

Photojournalism is a passion of Brett's because it requires capturing the candid moments of life. Those candid moments are what Brett looks for when covering current events to portraits.

Brett hails from Provost, Alberta, but now calls Calgary home.
